Good Bye

Of of the girls from my book club is moving to Ontario to be closer to her husbands family....boo for us in book club - she is a great girl, added a lot to our discussions, and I always loved her choices. So I made her this quick "Moving" card to send her off. I got the idea of layering the same color of cardstock from Angie at Chick n' scratch. I think it's such a simple way to add some detail and elegance to a card.

And I really have to find a better light for taking pictures!

Tools:

Paper: Very Vanilla

Stamp: Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories

Ink: Basic Black, Appricot Appeal, chocolate chip, old olive, real red

Ribbon: I can't remember for sure but I think it's Reindeer Red - it's retired

Card Kits

I bought this kit to make a quick set of coordinated cards to give as a gift to my mom - who couldn't use a set of cute cards as a gift eh? I love how quickly a card can come together with a kit, and it's a great place for a newbie to start their papercrafting passion.

I've also started embellishing the inside of a card, especially when it has a darker color background, it adds more of a personalized factor as well as providing a color to write your message on so the recipient doesn't have to squint to read it (or rather, I don't have to search endlessly for my white gel pen to write onto dark paper).

Simple Inspiration

I ordered the Sweet Pea DSP stack thinking how much I loved the funky designs like the layered circles, retro looking birds and funky flowers designs....so I was surprised when I flipped through the stack and totally fell in love with the floral design. I don't usually go for the flowery look but something in this design really inspired me to make a card with it. I wanted to keep it simple to show off the DSP.

Valentine Card for my daughter

My daughter is almost 3, she loves pink, glitter, and Feb 13 she loved skunks, Feb 14 she loved elephants...I made this card on the 13th. She still loved it.

Little Hands Birthday Invite

So my little hands helper is turning 3 next month. She loves Ariel, Tinkerbell and Barbie, but when I asked her what type of party she wanted, Ariel was the answer. Punching is my little helpers favorite so we set out to make a punched Ariel for the card. There are many examples on Splitcoast that we used for inspiration.

Getting Started

Hi Welcome to my stamping blog. I recently became a demo for Stampin'Up! after being an avid papercrafter for years and more recently sharing this passion with my almost 3 year old daughter, hence, you will see some "little hands" projects here that we worked on together (her 16 month old brother isn't interested yet....but he will be!)
My interest lies predominantly in card making and decor....I've tried to scrapbook but haven't fallen for it...yet, My Digital Studio program from Stampin' Up! just might change that. So I hope you enjoy the blog and are inspired by what you see.
